CPU controlled FUT champs game

I loaded into a FUT champs game which was against two identical arsenal teams both seemingly controlled by the CPU. I couldnt pause or control the players in any way and it didnt seem like the other team was controlled by a real player either. I stayed in the game til it ended with 'my' CPU controlled team losing 2-0. after the game no post match screen came up so i had to force quit the game. This counted as a loss on my record. Is this a hack by the other player? or just a rly weird bug?.
