Lost a game due to team management issue

I was playing a division rivals match when my dumfries got a red card and when I tried to move one of my midfielders that can play in that position, the team management tab wouldn’t open, I tried several times and couldn’t, the match was close until that point, after that I couldn’t defend anymore, had a huge gap in my backline and had to stop playing
