Players kick ball too far when sprinting in Squad Battles or SP Draft

This is for the PC platform. Since October 10th my players have been doing a "Heavy" touch when sprinting or pressing R1 for effort touch while dribbling during squad battles or any AI mode in Ultimate Team. This makes it impossible to dribble and sprint with the ball in control especially in higher difficulties. This issue is very clearly a bug (maybe registering double R2 sprint inputs?) since it does not occur in PVP modes like rivals. Extremely frustrating since it makes no sense for all of my players to forget how to dribble.
