Happened to me last night too!! Thought I could pause it like other evo’s so I could use the player in game. When the cancel evo menu came up I instinctively press B to exit out of the menu but the evo was cancelled anyway, trying to contact ea to try and resolve this but no luck so far!!
Update:- managed to speak to someone directly at ea via web chat, they have acknowledged that this is an issue however they are unable to continue the evolution on the player once it has been cancelled!! Very frustrating!!!

No way this is real, are you serious? We need compensation, even if they give us another evo to do from scratch. They can't just acknowledge a problem and not do anything about it surely?
I can give you false hope in saying that the EA Web Chat has no clue what they are talking about
