Unable to Load Clubs when switching from New Gen to Old Gen

my friend plays on Xbox one so I have to change game version when playing clubs with him.

every time I do this I am unable to load clubs for a period of 20-30 minutes.

i have tried restarting both the console and the game numerous times, going into games on FUT etc. 

nothing seems to accelerate this 20-30 minute clock.

not acceptable for paying £90 - what will be done?
