Unable to negotiate contract with players in Manager Career mode

I’m unable to negotiate contract with all players in the squad when playing Manager Career mode on PS5. It keeps saying that “The player is not looking to engage in contract negotiations for the time being.” as shown in the attached image. This is happening for all players.

Is this some kind of joke? Why put in a feature that cannot be used?

Please fix this bug immediately as it is ruining the whole experience. I now regret buying this game massively.
