Co op challenge softlock

Me and my friend decided to do some co op challenges together, initially after many failed party invites we managed to get in to a party together, however every time my friend starts a challenge, it comes up for me with the countdown on when the challenge begins, however after that my ui disappears and im still in free roam without any menu functions. However my friend can still see me in his challenge but I am not in the challenge itself.
