game crashes at the black skate. loading screen

I found a much easier procedure to get the game started, that has worked for the last 3 sessions:

When launching the game from Steam, quickly switch to your browser (or any other app, most likely) so that it is in focus...while the game launches. Wait a bit until it is loaded and then switch back using the taskbar.

Weird, but it works.

Check out the EA App! Uninstall Skate from steam, download the ea app, reinstall skate on ea app instead. Completely fixed my crashing issue! <3

I completely fixed this crashing issue for myself. All I did was uninstall Skate on steam, download the EA App, reinstall skate on EA App, then it worked like a charm! <3 hope this helps

I'm using the Steam version. I try to launch the game and it freezes my entire system. The final screen I see is all green. I have to hard reboot every time. 

If I verify files in Steam, it always finds 3 files that need to be repaired. I then use EAAntiCheat.Installer.exe to Repair. 

Using this procedure, I can get it running for a session but each time I come back it's back to freezing again. It's getting old!

^^ Same experience, tried the overlay thing too. Got in yesterday somehow but now it's not working again and I'm getting tired of trying lol.

I am experiencing the same issue. Sometimes I have to run my games as Administrator for them to work properly. It's either freezing on the black loading screen, or I'll get a Dx12 error message. I have been having this issue everyday now. Literally cannot play it I've uninstalled and reinstalled a  few times now.

I just had this happen to me the other day, I reinstalled it on EA instead of running it through steam and it worked and then the next to I loaded up the game it just black screens and then I'm able to quit or access anything. it's only just started after the last windows update, I don't know if that was anything to deal with this. 

I hoping this issue is resolved soon, as I brought this skate pass and I've seen some of the new features of season 3 that I hope to play.

This is happening to me since yesterday very consistently but with Steam version and it's crashing my whole PC. Tried every solution I could find online, uninstalled/reinstalled, disabled overlays, launched with "-windowed" (doesn't do anything), updated drivers (though doubt that's it) etc.
Yesterday after reinstalling I somehow got it to launch so I thought that was the end. Same issue happened when attempting to launch today. Reinstalled but crashed again immediately.
Been looking to see if it was just me.
