Game Opens Twice on PC

I've noticed that when I launch the game from either my desktop icon or the EA app itself, the game starts up once immediately, but when I go to join it fails to connect to EA Services. At the same time the EA app is trying to launch the game, and does a little loading in app before the small splash screen plays and then launches the game again. This time connects right away and 0 issues from then on. So, basically I have to launch the game, quit, then wait for it to launch for real.
