Game unplayable since update

I am on PC through Steam and have had nothing but issues since the update and have been unable to play it once since the update. I have tried for the last two days to play the game since the update and have had zero luck. I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled multiple times. I have gone in and had steam repair files. I have restarted my computer and taken care of any necessary updates and done countless other troubleshooting and nothing works. I press A at the title screen and one of two things happens. Either I get to the black screen and am stuck forever, or I get the Error code that seems to be common amongst other players regarding being kicked from the server. The game worked great leading up to the update and I was last playing the night before with no issues. I cannot play the game at all since it launches and cannot fix the issue.
