Quality down-scaling and blank screen on ultra-wide displays.

I have an ultra-wide display, and for some reason when the game first loads, by pressing space or X/A to start the game, it immediately changes the quality of the game to be more pixelated and then goes completely blank. The only way i have found to bypass this is by hovering over the game in the taskbar, using the small display it shows when hovering to change it to a windowed display in the graphics settings, and then changing it back to fullscreen immediatelly after. 

Any other game doesnt do this so i am going to assume this is a Skate problem. The display i have is an OMEN 34c which is 3440x1440 in size.

I also have the Steam version of Skate downloaded.

    Same, but my game doesn't go blank after the pixelation. When starting the game it gets stretched (like using a 1920x1080 resolution on a 3440x1440 monitor but stretched to fit full screen). It is indeed fixed by changing to windowed mode and back to fullscreen again, but I can do this in-game. But kinda annoying to do this every time you load the game.
