For the Character Quests for Dedra Meero, only the initial tier of the Marquee counts as "Winning a battle" for the purposes of the character quest. I have a 5 star marquee, and the other tiers did not apply progress toward character quest completion. If not resolved, it will make completion of the quest chain impossible.

Edit: It will be possible during the era challenges, post-marquee, assuming they count as "battles".
There's also the attempt to inflict undermine 40 times which doesn't count progress from Dedra or Kleya.
The undermine attempts not registering for me too.
