When a timer runs out, the battle does reward points for participation. This has happened to me 3 times over the last 2 months. I reported it and customer service said I didn't participate despite my screenshots showing a battle occurred. The first 3 screenshots are when it happened 2 months ago. The 4th just happened and it didn't register my killing of scoundrel Leia or any damage that was taken.
Ideas
Grand Arena not registering participation

Sounds like you are hitting Forfeit instead of Submit at the end of the battle.

Unsure if this was actually a bug or not, as it's been changed to 'fixed'. However, the client was changed..............well over a year ago maybe on how results in GAC/TW are registered.
Before, if you did nothing or put it on auto it would register as a result. The issue with this was that it caused the team you were facing to have the Turn Meter of when the battle ended. This is generally a bad thing. To counter this players would play in airplane mode, if the battle went well, they'd turn off airplane mode. If it went poorly, they force restart the client. You'd be registered with a loss, but without a turns taking place, thus no pre-loaded TM.
Obviously, having to interact with the client like this isn't good. So, CG changed the client so that when the battle ended you had the choice of uploading your result or not. If you don't choose a result within .....I think a couple of minutes, then it automatically doesn't upload the result. So, if you've been putting it on auto and walking away, you don't get an uploaded result.
I believe this is still the case as I lost my first battle badly in GAC today and didn't upload it, and didn't get 10 points.

I got a message from customer service saying sorry for the inconvenience. So maybe something was fixed. If what you are saying is true, at least I know now. I don't have the energy to do all that airplane mode to mess with the turn meter. I don't care enough about a battle to do that. I use auto to compete because I don't have the patience to play otherwise. Many times I hit auto and then go tend to my child or something. This past time I went to auto because I saw it was gonna be a draw. Hopefully they corrected this error/issue.

Well there was no score, right? You need a score of 10 to qualify for rewards. You get 10 for registering your first match. If you don't register it, then it stays as a zero.
As you said you put it on auto, I think it's probably player error, rather than game error. The chance to upload your score doesn't stay for a long, a minute or so only.

What does putting it on auto have to do with anything. Auto is participating, hence 10 points should be awarded. Why is there even a way to NOT upload a score? When the time is up, it should be uploaded because the TIME is up. Hell, if you use auto then automatically upload the score when times up. They should be no hidden timer that will cause you to nullify any participation. At least say, times up and your participation was not recorded. I don't care enough to cheat. My time is too valuable to manipulate anything to gain an edge in a battle. If I participate and it's a draw, upload the score when the clock reaches zero. Not some undisclosed time after. This whole idea of having to submit the battle in a certain time period is news to me and frankly stupid.

Did you not read any of my first post? You're literally asking me to repeat myself.

The same function exists for TW and you can't leave battles hanging there. Either that, or some other PvP reason.
If you don't care about winning and just collect your 10 points. Just put your weakest character in and lose in a few seconds. Then submit.
