I just got his unique 7. The one when he is suppose to taunt if the generator takes 2 or more hits and it doesn't work. It can be destroyed and he doesn't taunt once.. I tested it in the last mod battle twice and the 9 hard light battle. That's the whole point of the team. To keep the generator running. Without the taunt the team is useless. I restarted my phone and tested again.

What I think is no content creator would state that this is a must have skill if it worked how you state.
What I think as a 3 month player is I wasted time and money on a team because I went by what content creators said about the skill. And now I'm in the 300's of arena without having a team that can compete
What I think is they would of never praised it in its current state.
What I think is theres a reason a year ago gungans got a lot of praise as a team to now being a laughing stock.
What I think is I watched unlock jar jar vids where the generator took to hits in a row and phalanx tanked. Now he doesn't.
What I think is I could of used those 2 tokens I wasted on this team on my Mon mothma,padme or palp teams I never finished
My personal opinion is this skill got a stealth nerf because it's no longer worth the mats to get and I would of never did if I knew it did basically nothing

The reason there are 2 other threads about this is 2 other people (on top of you and initially me) didn’t read the ability properly.

It doesn’t matter what I state. That’s what the ability description states. Gungans are a very useful team in GAC, TB and TW. The only person who cares about how they operate in Arena is you. Content creators give recommendations because they are aiming to compete in important game modes, not dormant ones.
What I think is that there is a lot you need to learn about this “simple mobile game”.

I go by what I read. If something states two hits I expect it to work after 2 hits. It kinda seems to me it used to that's why the main content creators said it's a must have. The way the ability works now and since unique 8 is for a mode that no longer exists they should just remove it.

Basing your belief on how the ability functions on what a shouting man in a costume said in a video rather than what the ability description actually says is quite something, but I thought you might be interested in this screenshot I took from the shouting man’s Gungan Phalanx unlock video:
You might notice the “in a single turn” condition has always been present in the Phalanx’s kit, from day 1.

I did watch the video you mentioned. I heard Ahnald making a quick summary of why Gungans will be an awkward team to face on defence. I heard him say “If you get rid of two stacks of the shield generator then the Phalanx taunts…”
Then I watched the one I took the screenshot from to prove to you that the ability description has never operated as you think.
Ahnald misspoke. I don’t watch his videos, but I’d be surprised if this was the only time he’s ever said something that wasn’t completely accurate.
As I said in another post, people make mistakes. Some put their hands up and acknowledge their error. Others toss around personal insults.
