Jedi Vanguard Damage Reduction Applying to non vanguard allies

I noticed when fighting a Rey team with Barriss lvl 9 and the Jedi Vanguard 75% damage reduction when above 50% tm lvl 6 datacron ability that the 75% damage reduction would apply improperly to more than just jedi vanguard allies. Rey as the GL was always taking full damage, but if I attacked other characters above 50% tm they would occasionally also take the 75% reduced damage. 

You'll see in this video below Night trooper has Blessed and is called to assist dealing 40% less damage when DTP uses his special ability. This would imply a 40% damage reduction, but the Ben Solo has over 50% tm and the cron is incorrectly applying the 75% damage reduction as well to the Blessed assist and causing Night troopers damage to be taken down to 1 (and then I think the crit damage increased it to 3 because theres so much crit damage on my own datacron here). You'll notice the very next turn I take Night trooper uses his special which calls an assist that has *no damage penalty* attached to it, and even though Ben Solo is above 50% tm the 75% damage reduction from the datacron does not apply and DTP assists for his regular amount of damage. The cron seems to just be checking if the target is above 50% tm and if there is any damage reduction on the attack and if there is it's applying all the damage reductions both from the attack and from the datacron even when the enemy being targeted isn't a Jedi Vanguard. This is actually extremely problematic and makes the jedi vanguard damage reduction no longer faction locked and exploitable. There needs to be some kind of check to see if the enemy being hit with the damage is actually a jedi vanguard.

(Also you guys should probably add a "Datacrons" tag to the selectable tags for the bug reports at the bottom, that would likely be a large category as they cycle so much more frequently than arena/conquest etc)

  • Once again experienced this today, it cost me my GAC because it takes forever to kill a ben solo who is getting 350% defense, and lifeblood damage reduction, and Jedi Vanguard damage reduction. Starkiller basics would do 3000 damage to Ben solo when ben had high tm, or 30k when he had low TM.

    I was also experiencing this. It appears to not be faction locked properly 

  • These screenshots may not seem like that large of a deal, but they actually have a quite dramatic affect on the flow of this battle in specific. For this battle (Emperor Palpatine lead Starkiller) the goal is to maximize damage against everyone except barriss while doing little to no damage to her. Normally someone using the Jedi Vanguard reduced damage level 6 should make accomplishing this goal easier as it should only be affecting the damage that Barriss takes. However, especially when combined with the effects of Lifeblood (From Rey) and high defense rolls on the datacron itself this can make it incredibly challenging to get Ben Solo (A normally quite soft target) low on health fast enough. I can't say this bug has singlehandedly cost me a win in GAC yet, but I have definitely seen myself and others drop battles we wouldn't have had this bug not been present. 

  • This first screenshot is from my (ally code: 958-429-689)  GAC battle vs MINIJenoke (ally code: 582-361-943) on 7/26. His rey was taking considerably higher damage than anyone else. I can't fully explain this, because the damage reduction is also applying to barris who had naturally taken a turn at thus was at low TM. 

    I will follow this comment with another screenshot as it does not want to all attach in one, it shows that even this type of behavior is inconsistent because sometimes people at lower TM will take full damage. Overall this level 6 is deeply bugged and it appears whatever fixes were made to prevent situations that happened with this effect in other factions (ie, Krr taking 1 damage against an SLKR that was hitting for millions) have broken the DC at a core level including it's functionality leaking into other factions.
