[AA] Imaginary Friend Vanishes when making real (Space issue)

I made a new save, with mods and everything that was in the first one, just added the same Sims from the library, their house, and everything else, and everything works... It's a shame to have to rebuild relationships. I would like to continue in the old one, but this is the only way out...

crinrict​ I have tried in a room with a lot of space in it and the same thing still happens. Hopefully this gets looked at and fixed by Maxis sometime soon. For now I guess I don't use the imaginary friends. Though I might still try every once in a while. The last exception with mods off doesn't always pop up it only did once or twice. But if one does pop up eventually, do you still want me to post here?

thesempal_​ I use houses from the gallery sometimes because I'm not too good at building my own. Plus, I don't know how to upload to the gallery. I also use other sims from the gallery sometimes too, I just change the clothing, hairstyle and name sometimes. I could try what you did and see if it works...but I would hate to have to do that every time I use the imaginary friends.

I made a friend as a teenager and everything seemed fine, but later he appeared among my friends and I got the message “familiar face, but I can't remember.” But in the relationship, it says on the Sim's profile that he is now a friend, and the one who appeared second in the relationship says that he is my imaginary friend and no one can see him except the Sim who made him a teenager, but he builds relationships with them. I also tried to add him to the family, and I can't control him, but the details are falling apart. Now I have two Sims, but the second one is useless, as if he were imaginary. Maybe this will be useful to you... He is invisible to others, but communicates with them.

I know this comment is a month old, so my commenting might not do anything. But I just tried turning my Sim's imaginary friend real, and the same thing happened. She spun into the air to transform, I got all the rainbow sparkles...and then nothing. All I get now are the same two options: Reminisce and Seek Comfort. I don't have ANY mods, so I have no idea what the problem is (besides the usual game bugginess)!

So I have been trying to get my sims to turn their imaginary friends into a real sim and I have had some luck. I have noticed that when I age my child sim up without using a cake to age them up, is when it doesn't work. I have used a cake to age up a child sim twice now and it worked to turn their imaginary friend into a real sim. Sometimes it doesn't work that way but most of the time it does. I have tried with mods on and mods off, both times it works sometimes and then doesn't work sometimes. I don't know if when a sim ages up from a child to a teen, if that could be the problem why imaginary friends turn into a real sim or not. I have also been checking for any last exceptions to pop up but the only ones that do is when I have mods on. I have checked in a new save game and the imaginary friends turn real sometimes and don't sometimes and same thing happens when I checked in an old save game as well.
