Trying to setup an old lot to be a residential small business and cannot open as it says there is no valid lot and that I should purchase a venue. Did I set this up wrong or am I missing something? A...

I never had residential rentals..... But here's how I fixed my issues.
You have to save lot in your files gallery download go to world evict. Then save. Go back to world click on lot edit it bulldozed it and change it to generic. Save then go to worlds. Re open lot in edit change to residential . Save..... go back to gallery and move family back to empty lot. Once there load your gallery lot back to property and it should work.. I had to do that process three times on one lot only once on another.
Now I have 3 Sims in household who run separate business at different times.
My suggestion is make the lot first then move people to the lot.
