Black Photos (Patch 1.119.109)

thanks. For me the photos are fine. I can duplicate the paintings easily which is why I wonder what's the trigger for the photos.

Are those phone photos or photos taken with a camera ?

Just wanted to confirm that we're looking into this now, as of this moment I do not know if we'll need additional player saves but please stand by for any further information as we get it.

Just as a reminder, the fixes that went out earlier today for black photos only impact new saves. Once a texture is lost, it cannot be recovered. 

All Photos was taken with the expensive camera not with the phone, i attached a zip file with the savegame in my post but it seems that it not worked. I try to ad it here again

could you test if it works with the phone ?

So far it's the keepsake and storage boxes that are causing this for me. Edit: oh no AND digital frames :(

In a new save (Mac, no mods, post-patch), I took some photos with my sim's phone, and then placed them in a few places. I then quit (Exit Game --> Save and Exit), and reloaded the game to check the photos.

• What didn't turn black:
• ~Photos in Digital frames (so that appears fixed!)~ Edit: Spoke too soon! the display photo didn't turn black, but nearly all photos behind it DID :( so this is only fixed if you only have one photo in them.
• Photos on the wall
• Photos in Moschino collage frame

• What DID turn black:
• Photos in Cheapskate Keepsake Box [GRO]
• Photos in ICYA - Chest [DU]
• Photos in Sticker Storage Box [ECO]
• Edit to add: Photos in Digital frames (not the display photo, 3/4 of the ones behind it)

Edited to add this screenshot. The display photo and one of the photos in the stack were fine, the rest black. All normal quality. This happened with vertical and horizontal frames. I had both the Moschino and the base game event frames in use at the same time.

The photos in storage were black in the boxes/chests and also when moved to the wall.

Sorry, I am still confused. If I take a new photo in an old save, will it still turn black (for the same cause that the new patch fixed)? Or will, going forward in that old save, new photos be preserved?

Nooooo!! Now photos on the wall??? Oh that's it I'm not touching the Sims anytime soon :(

I think i found something, i tested with like over 50 photos taken with phone, with a good camera AND with camrera and the tripod from the Moschino Pack. Maybe it is coincidence because photos get black on a wall after reloading a save, is a little rare. Only a few of the photos i took with the Moschino tripod getting black. Not all of them but only those that was taken with the tripod.

I often use the tripod because i like the possibilities that comes with the tripod. So it makes sense that when i often use it, i got more black photos.

To be clear NOT ALL photos get black. Some of the tripod photos stay normal.

AND the photos in any storage problem is another one that do not have anything to do with the wall problem. Photos in storage getting black anytime, doesent matter how they was taken.

I took photos with no filters and filters.

One on the tripod, using just the digital camera, and with the phone camera.

The ONLY photos that are black are the ones with filters (except for the phone camera).

Also want to edit, the last 2 photos in each row were in the (personal) inventory and I pulled it out.

I don't think that's important, but I truly think it's specifically the filters, digital frames, and storage boxes causing an issue.
