Did either of you try view ?
I did and and first it didn't work but then I choose a sculpture on a table and this time it did fulfill.
I tried several objects (paintings, statues on floor, statues on table) with "view". But no fulfill.
I was also having this issue.
But after doing as crinrict said, I was able to fulfill the quest step.
In my case, I fulfilled it by running "View" on the "On The Hunt Statuette" object placed on "The Enduring" table, both are Base Game items.
Please keep in mind that this is not a guaranteed solution, but do give it a try!
putting those two specific items in a mueseum worked for me! Finally I went to every single one in my game and tried it on every time until i found this thread!
Thanks for the tip! But that combination doesn't work either. I tried a new game, used the original, unchanged Willow Creek Museum, and tried my luck with about 20 base game objects. Unfortunately, to no avail. Does the Sim perhaps need a certain skill that isn't mentioned? Edit & Mysterious: The statue-table combination didn't work, but it worked with the picture! Thanks for all the tips, but I don't understand the logic behind it🤔
After trying several items at the Deadwood Discoveries museum I decided to try a base game museum instead. Still had issues, but eventually the "On the Hunt Statuette" worked for me as well. Specifically the one located at the Municipal Muses museum in Willow Creek.
I did try view and it did not work
For a second I thought it was bugged, but despite the action being misnamed (View), it seems that it completes on an invisible timer? The View action, even outside this event, doesn’t seem to have a circular timer, but it does seem to have an invisible one — and a looong one at that!
At first, using View on a painting in the Oasis Springs Museum did nothing, then I cancelled the action (triangle on PlayStation 5). On a second try, I queued View on two different pieces of art at the museum and went to try doing the same for my other Sim in the same household. Once the first Sim’s action concluded (invisible timer), it finished the mission successfully — and my Sim was very pleased with himself going downstairs in the museum to do the second View I’ve queued. 😆
So maybe it’s not the specific piece of art that’s the issue, but the invisible timer for the action to complete?
"View" didn't check off the task. As Trowicia said though, once I bought specifically "The Enduring" table and placed it in a museum, then put the "On The Hunt" statuette on top of it (the museum I was at already had one, so I moved it), the quest checked off.
I did try and view the statue earlier, but it didn't work until it was placed on that specific table.
