Cannot follow my sims to high school

After the Lovestruck update I haven’t been getting the popup to follow my teens to high school. I have the pop up enabled. They still go to school, like a regular rabbit hole, however only one of them (I have 3) is technically at school whilst the others apparently have the day off (those 2 also are not greyed out as would be expected when a sim in your household is not on your lot). I’ve removed all mods, game is up to date and still is occuring.
