Cannot Plant in Off-Lot Planters in Some Worlds

There are 2 planter boxes in New appaloosa and the only action my sim can perform is 'purchase seeds' I know the planters are on public property but , I assume my sims should be able to plant something there. Or am I wrong in assuming this and it's not a glitch after all.

  • I don't think this is a bug. It's just a baffling design decision.

As far as I know, Moonwood Mills from the Werewolves game pack is the only place where you can plant seeds in neighborhood planter boxes. The Werewolves pack includes a special planter box that even mentions that in its description.  I've never been able to plant anything in any other planters unless they were on a lot.

  • I tried planting in the garden beds at Old New Henford. Nothing doing. I haven't tried planting in other locations with planters, but I had an errand to plant a pumpkin and my own garden beds were already in use.

Pretty daft to have empty planters sitting there and not be able to plant in them! I'd understand if you couldn't pull out existing plants, but when the planter is empty - make that make sense.

  • I have also experienced this problem with community planters in Willow Creek and Henford-on-Bagley. I wanted to enhance the community gardens but the game won't allow my sims to plant more plants in those community spaces.
