Can't grab a serving or leftovers

Since today my sims can't grab a serving from a dish or grab leftovers from the fridge. They just stand there and do nothing, the action is cancelled from the queue.

Obviously I thought one of my mods was the problem, but after disabling mods the problem persisted.
