After I place one item the next item I select won't place, it flips back to where it was previously, or is carries around by my mouse indefinitely. I found by clicking a different tool across the top like the eyedropper then going back to the select tool it will let me place another item, but only one. Then click on the eyedropper again and back to the select tool, for each item I need to move or place.

I just held down the shift key and was able to buy three items at a time without them disappearing. Strange glitch that needs fixing
Same just started for me I buy one item and I have to go back into live mode than go back to build mode and buy one more item and try to buy something else and the item like disappears
I began experiencing this issue today. I've been gone for two weeks at work. There is a delay when placing an object that I purchased in build mode. I am unable to sell or remove the item, and it also frequently vanishes. All I am doing is improving my rental on a rental lot. I return to live mode after any of these events, and there is stuttering instability that lasts for a few seconds before it clears up. it's not my graphics driver because I updated it after these issues began and it did not fix the problem. I can move, upgrade, cook, take a shower, go to another unit, and go back; however, as soon as I open build mode and buy or move anything, it is over and sometimes it affects saving. I was stuck in save a few times, but I waited, and it eventually saved a couple of times. Several times today, I had to manually close the program because it was simply stuck on saving. This is the 4th New game that I have tried to rebuild my Sims lives, and I have a feeling this save is going to end up like the others. Just for the record undo does not work either.
I've had some glitches like that frequently & I only play vanilla on my PC. So not fair.😫
I am having the same issue as of today. Anyone have a solution? This is preventing me from playing the game at all. I tried deleting cache, repairing game, I have no mods or cc. Any ideas?
This exact bug has appeared in my game as of a few days ago. Please, somebody, anybody let me know if there's a solution...

I did this and it did not work, I also went into my file and deleted any marked “cache” by hand. I eventually gave up and just deleted the game, even after reinstalling I still can’t build/delete anything in build mode. Every attempt to save or leave game causes a permanent loading screen. The lack of any help from EA in this forum is making me feel like the game was just a big waste of money.
I am having the same issue. It's making me super frustrated. I have issues with the undo button as well as object placing, sledgehammer not deleting what I ask it to delete and bulldozing button doesn't want to work either at times. I have to constantly repair my game. I haven't used mods in this only save I have as they are all deleted and I deleted the last exceptions, local thumb cache file, deleted all my cc out of my mods folder before doing the two previous things and then lastly repaired my game. Scripts and custom content button are also disabled too. Still having the issue. A temp fix I only found is constantly repairing my game which is driving me crazy.
