I have a new save for my spellcaster. She is rank 3 right now and knows 3 mischief spells. I bought books to learn them and the option is not there. Also when I put them in a bookshelf there are not showing as part of the library neither show when going to the magic realm.

I have a similiar issue the books are there but the game acts like my sim's rang isnt high enaugh to read them.

Any chance of uninstalling the recent update? The spellcaster tomes cannot be read. The characters fight one another for no reason, etc. Latest update wrecked the game.

No. I'm on console. Even If I uninstall the game and reinstall the game it will update automatically regardless and you don't have the option to not update or you won't be able to play the game without it.
Same here! I thought it was just one save file.
I am currently using a PS4 with Sims4 and it seems that since the last game update, my magical sim cannot access the magical books in her inventory to read, nor can she buy books from the vendor off world. When trying to access her inventory for her magical books, it gives me a box saying add to inventory, place in world ect. I was told it could be a bug by one of the tech advisors. Will this be fixed soon?
I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the game on my pc and even tried remaking everything. I even tried turning off my mods and cc but still having the same problem.
