Can't resume writing book

I have a sim who is working on the bestselling author aspiration. It seems like any time she stops writing a book in the middle, she can't resume writing it unless I exit to main menu and then go back in.

When you tell her to resume, she sits down at the computer, then the task disappears from the queue and she starts doing something else. If she's already sitting, her "I like writing" bubble appears for a moment but the task never queues at all.

Here is a save file, but since reloading the game seems to fix it, you may have to start her writing another one then stop and then try to resume. No last exception file is generated. The zip file also includes a screen recording of me trying to get her to resume a couple times.

I found an archived bug report that suggested starting a new book would fix it, but it did not. Another said it had to do with the writer's block moodlet, but she did not have one. Trying to get her to use a different computer didn't help. Resetting the sim doesn't help. The only thing that helps is going out of the game using save and Exit to Main Menu and then loading back in. But then it recurs the next time she stops writing a book in the middle.

Playing on a Mac, never CC or mods.

This has been a bug for years. I gave up thinking they would ever bother fixing it. If you scrap the book then start a new one it will work about 70% of the time. If it doesn't get rid of the usual cache files and repair your game. I find that biography, sci fi, and mystery bug out most often. I'm having trouble with motivational books borking out in my current save though.

I'm having this same issue. Occasionally, putting the computer in the household inventory works, but not always. I tried all the workarounds as well, and nothing works consistently
