I decided to move in a bunch of Maxis Sims from the gallery and noticed immediately that I cannot transfer Sims to a new household now.

Pretty sure it is the new update. Also want to mention that the link to the AHQ site is giving me an error message.
OMG thank god I found this thread, I thought I messed up my whole save file! I was searching everywhere last night but they were all posts from last year. Hopefully we get a fix soon!

I'm having this same issue. As another commenter said, you can still transfer between households with the phone but only with the selected sim; they can't take any other sims with them.

Me too, I've tried vanilla too and the problem still is there, I've repaired, reinstalled, restarted my computer, another new game and problem is still there!
It's happening to me as well. I cannot move more than one person out during gameplay or when managing the household. It's wild. I can't believe it hasn't been fixed yet...😭
