CAS edits not saving

I edited a few of my sims in CAS and the changes I had made to each sim did not save after exiting CAS. CAS was also making random changes to my sims on its own, like changing the hair style randomly...
create a sim
never cc or mods

I am not using any mods/cc, I am playing on PC, and I did not get the sims through Cupid's Corner.

Does this happen every time when you edit someone in CAS ? Was it the same Sims the game made changes too ? Are you actively playing them or rotational gameplay ?
