[CD] adopted pet still shows 'Up for adoption!'

After you adopt a pet the 'up for adoption' above their name does not go away. It goes away when you reach a loading screen, for example CAS or travelling.

You can see in the screenshot that the dog is already part of the household.

Happens for both cats and dogs.
