I just bought Horse Ranch. The look of dissapointment when I hover over the pre-made families and none of them has horses... I loaded the households and even started a new game and they are still missing. I check Brindleton Bay and it's the same.. What do I do now? Should I get a refund?

This is exactly the kind of thing I was dreading when I heard that they had the packs on sale despite them being broken. Honestly you can still play with cats, dogs, and horses as a gameplay feature, you're essentially just missing those specific animal 'characters', I guess, from the game. So it's your choice what you do in this situation until they actually get around to fixing it.

If you look for Figblat's comment (order comments by Newest, should make it easier to find the posting), they have some sort of idea of a temporary fix.

It might be a hassle but what you could perhaps do is replace the families via the gallery or even just the take the horses themselves from the gallery and place them in with the families that are missing them. Same could apply to Brindleton Bay families though I don't know how Mayor Whiskers and Captain Whittaker could be fixed since they're strays.
It sucks that it has to come to jerry rigging and adjusting the pre-made families instead of the issue simply being fixed but that's the best I can think to do. If you want to refund that's totally okay I'd be really frustrated/disappointed too if this happened to me but the pack is still a fun one even with this (really really really annoying) bug
