Same here, i see that when i deasable some pack with the option just for fun. I also notice that the pnj animals are disappeared. When i restart the game with all my packs and play a new save, all the animals have returned. I feel like there is a pack or combination that, if disabled, causes the game to crash. In any case, it definitely comes from the update for pack selection. Old saves prior to this update still have their animals, but for saves with the bug, you won't find them.
Hi Fairy_Maie
I'm trying to be sure I understand your post correctly. Are you saying that if you disable a pack, start a new save, save when it opens and exit the game, followed by adding whatever pack was disabled back and restarting that new save, that the animals are then present? If so, you've found a workaround I would like to try and replicate. I was very disappointed this bug wasn't on the laundry list for the Nov 4/25 patch.
If I am correct in interpreting your post, could you please lmk what pack you disabled and then reenabled so I can be sure I follow your steps accurately? I find a new save without the premade animals from C&D and HR irritates me tremendously. I've not disabled any packs since the introduction of the feature since I enjoy using them all. Thank you in advance for a clarification on your post.

Hello, sorry for the delay. No, you will not be able to find your lost animals. When you have the bug, even if you put all the packs back, the animals will remain missing. Moreover, it is not only the pre-made households but also all the NPC animals: the cat named Mayor and the dog Captain Whitaker will have disappeared. You won't be able to have any animals unless you buy them. If you really like your save, I recommend opening a save without the bug, saving the homes in your library, and then replacing them all in your buggy save.
It seems to me that even with a save where all the animals from the homes are present, there is still a problem: the dog Captain has suddenly become a ghost again. A long time ago, an update brought him back to life. I know this because I play with him almost constantly. So I have no idea what's going on.For me, I only had this bug once when I was having fun deactivating packs while I playing on a friend's account who had more packs than me (to discover them one by one and see which ones I liked). It seems to me that if you deactivate the Snowy Escape pack and the Growing Together pack, you'll get this bug. However, when I deactivated the Snowy Escape pack only, I didn't get the bug.
The entire dog and cat pack is broken, and I advise against anyone buying it in its current state. I don't know if you've noticed, but now you can only yell at them to train them to not misbehave, and you can no longer praise them for good behaviour (interactions have disappeared). They've started to fix some things, which warms my heart, but there are still too many bugs in this pack, and I'm personally disgusted by it.

Well, Captain Whitaker becoming a ghost dog again is NOT a bug, it's a bug fix. He always should have been a ghost, him losing his unique state as an adult ghost dog was the bug.
Note: While technically he drowned story wise, he merely has a simple "ghost" state, not drowned. Though with cheats you can remove the Dead state and give him Drowned instead.- Fairy_Maie2 months agoRising Traveler
Thank you for the information about him being drowned, I didn't remember that. I knew it was a bug, but he's been alive for so long that I thought it was now part of the lore and that someone had brought him back to life XD I didn't see this fix come through, but I'm delighted about it.
