[CD] [HR] Pets/Horses are black

First time posting, and I hope someone can help with this.

I've recently updated the Sims 4 Base Game, and I've yet to test it out in full, but one jarring issue is that my playable family in the game now seems to have changed the colours of some of my animals, with the ginger cat and white dog now just one shade on full black, with no indication of features other than the eyes. It's so strange, and not a bug I've ever come across before. I've got the games on Origin, and I've done 3 repairs and nothing. I'll see if a complete computer restart will fix it, but is this something anyone else has experienced since the base game update?

I really want to try and avoid uninstalling as it will take forever with all the games, so please let me know if there's a fix for this. 

I've just noticed this too, it wasn't an issue yesterday, even after the base game update, let me know if you find a fix!

Same thing happened to my pet as well. My dog is now fully pitch black and I haven’t found a fix yet. 😩

This happened to me after the latest update, too...still searching for a solution :(

Also experiencing this issue since the patch. Have tried repairing the game and resetting to factory settings, but neither have fixed the appearance of my pets.

this is also happening to me as of the update. My dog & horses were fine yesterday but now they are all black. Editing them in CAS did not change anything and they are not dirty. 😭

After the last update it also happened to me!

I am having the same problem! I am currently working on my own save and all the pets in all my households have this issue, I don't have any CC for pets other than eye defaults and don't think it's the issue  bc after replacing the pets with a new on the texture problem hasn't come back so that's the only fix I found so far.

I'm also experiencing this issue in my game. Until yesterday, all pets were normal, but after I overwrote my save, they all turned pitch black. I tried creating new pets, and at first it seemed to work, but whenever I saved the game, closed it, and then reloaded the save, the same bug would appear on the new animals too.

I even tested older saves, and while the pets initially looked fine, the texture issue came back after reloading the save.

I'd like to know if continuing to play on this save could affect it permanently, even if a future update fixes the bug. I've already disabled mods, changed graphic settings, and tried various adjustments, but nothing has worked so far.

I really hope EA fixes this soon, because I just want to be happy playing The Sims again — and not become a mildly depressed young person without access to my virtual pets (that last part is said with irony, of course)
