I fill my pets bowls and have a sim call the pets, the pets go to the bowl but do not eat from it. I have tried using different pet bowls and having them in different places but they still won't eat....

My Sim Adopted a dog yesterday and it can't eat from the food bowl. I've tried resetting the dog and placing the bowl in different areas but it still won't eat. I also ask it to go eat and it just goes up to it and stands there in idle. I have mods but I've taken them out for now.
