Clock is out of sync with actual game time

During gameplay (PC) the clock seems to go too fast so when sims go to work the time can show as several hours ahead of what the game time actually is. For example the game clock can show as 9am but sims won’t get the notification to go to work until several sim hours later. They aren’t showing as late and don’t have the option to go to work. Also when phoning other sims it says they are sleeping even if it’s the middle of the day according to the game clock. This is fixed briefly by travelling or going to manage worlds but will go back to being several hours ahead after a few minutes of play.

I’ve uninstalled, repaired, tried various new saves, removed all mods and the clock will always go out of sync.

0zggd0fggmre did you ever use any simulation lag fixer or something of that sort ? Like to help with performance ? That can also cause this.

  • crinrict  I installed simulation lag fix AFTER this problem occurred because it persists in a new save that never had mods

0zggd0fggmre Did you close down the game completely between starting that new save and the bugged one ? Some issues carry on to other saves if that's not done.

  • crinrictI don't keep more than one save in my game, so yes, I completely closed the game, cleared the cache and started a new game

If you rename your user folder and start yet another save for testing, do you have it there too ?

Is your actual computer clock correct (stranger things have happened as the computer clock causing issues)

Hi! I've been experiencing this issue for quite a while now. The in-game clock and the sims schedules are out of sync. Sims will only receive the notifications for school and work and leave hours later, sometimes up to 5/8 hours or more (e.g., school/work at 8 AM → leave at 11 AM or 2 PM). Holidays and other events can also end much later than they should, but once I travel to another lot, the clock returns to the "correct" time. Even if Sims spend the whole day at home with no events or work, the clock still de-syncs.

I use an external 1 TB SSD for extra space, so lack of storage is not an issue. The problem also occurred before I upgraded, but at the time I thought storage limitations were the cause because I had less than 4 GB of free space on my computer.

I've never installed MCCC or any other mods that adjust simulation lag, and my computer clock is correct.

    Steps I've tried:
    *Removed all mods and CC
*Cleared Steam and EA app cache, and the game cache
*Tested with a clean Sims 4 folder (moved old folder and generated a new one)
*Repaired the game via Steam’s “Verify integrity of game files”
    *Reinstalled the game completely
*Tested in brand new saves (completely removed all save folders I had)

    Temporary workaround:
Switching to Manage Worlds temporarily or travelling resyncs the clock, but only for a few minutes

    Hello all,

If any of you are still encountering this on the latest game version (without mods), would you be willing to share your save file(s)? If so, please send me a private message with a link to the file.

Instructions can be found here. Please also include a link to the thread the save is for.

    Thanks!

    EA_Cade

Hi, I tried sending my save file via private message as requested, but the forum isn’t letting me send PMs (the message window just refreshes and nothing shows in “Sent”).

I also tried posting the Google Drive link here, but the forum blocks it with an “invalid HTML” error. I think my account is too new to allow links or PMs yet.

I updated my game and started a new clean save without mods/CC, but the issue is still happening. The temporary workaround of going to Manage Worlds does resync the clock, but only for a few minutes.

If still in need / no one has provided one yet, could you please PM me directly so I can reply with the save link?

    Thank you!
