Club Gatherings

This seems like an old bug that seems to have appeared again, but my sims who initiate the club gathering cannot join. The button “join gathering” is there but it doesn’t seem to work. Eventually the club members leave and no matter how many times I click to start the club, it doesn’t work. This happens to both the club leaders and the club members trying to start a club meeting. It happens both at home lots and community lots. Yes I do have mods and yes I have already tried it without mods and have the same results. I haven’t tried it with a new save, but it worked previously in my current save with no issues since the last time I updated the game (October). I do not have the current update, so I am not sure if this  has already been fixed. Mostly looking for information if this can be fixed by myself doing something in game or if this a bug that just exist in the game after long playtime.
