I'm having this problem too. I have a cow and a llama stuck in my household inventory, and keep getting notifications that they are neglected and leaving, and my Sims keep getting sad moodlets. I cannot delete them, I cannot successfully assign them to a shed, I can't place them. It's super annoying and honestly sad to see the notifications that they're starving and uncared for every two minutes.
