Cow stuck in family’s inventory

I bought a cow and it never appeared in the shed. When I look at my family’s inventory, it is there, starving and dirty, and there is nothing I can do.

I have tried:

• Clicking on “assign cow to the shed”. I can do that only once, and then it says it’s there, but it’s not.
• Deleting the shed and buying a new one. Also changing the location of the shed.
• Going to manage worlds, playing with a different family and going back. Also restarting the game.
• Selling the cow, placing it in the world (it can’t be done, not even with cheats).
• Repairing the game and deactivating the mods.
• Going to the fair and trying to put the cow in a contest (it can’t be done if it’s not in your sims’ inventory)
• Buying another cow. Same thing happens to the second cow.

I seriously don’t know what to do anymore. I’ve had cows in that same family farm before and this is the first time this happens.

I’d appreciate any help!
