Cozy Celebrations Event

The event will not load into my game. I've removed bad mods and updated those that came with the update from December 3rd. I've even repaired my game and removed my mods to see if it would load in the game, and it didn't. Every time a holiday or event (birthday party, food sale, quest) pops up, it glitches (icon messed up and different colors displayed over the area). It still lets me complete said holiday or event, but the icon for the cozy celebrations has never popped up in the game or when first opening the sims. The only time I had the vent pop up was before the December 3rd update when it was first being teased/announced on the main menu. I have not been able to start the event at all.
