Dead sims are not greyed out in the relationship panel/Family tree

This happens to me too.  More often than not, a dead sim will appear as “alive” either in the family tree or in the relationship panel.  I’ve tried playing around and seeing if releasing the ghost or placing the tombstone on a different lot changes anything but it seems random. Sometimes if I bring the ghost in and out of CAS, it will reset their family tree photo to black and white but it’s not a consistent fix. 

I was hoping the new family tree update might have fixed this but it’s still happening to me.
