All four of my sims (two adults and two children, none of which have the neat trait) receive the dirty surroundings moodlet when in the living room but there is nothing dirty anywhere in the room. I have hired 3 maids to "clean" the dirt and replaced every item and the entire room in an attempt to remove the "dirt" but they still have the moodlet. I also removed all my mods and CC and the issue still existed. I also turned off the dust system to see if there was some dust not showing up somewhere but they say the surroundings are still dirty.

- do you have a pressure cooker or any other small appliances in the room ?
- Have you check any aquariums you might have for dead fish ?

Yes, I checked every appliance and even deleted every single item (appliances included) in the room and replaced it with a new version in case something was registering as dirty but couldn't be cleaned.
There are no aquariums in the room.
I am on PC.
The pressure cooker has a general issue. Have you tried not replacing them ?
What happens if you just delete all the furniture (on a backup of your save) ?
