Firefighters don't do anything

Same problem although the results weren't quite as bad.

Summer Holiday started a fire while she was cooking in the oven at the BFF residence. The fire alarm sounded and summoned the firefighters but they just stood outside on the sidewalk until the fire went out on its own. USELESS! 

The fire did go out on its own after burning the stove and a few other things, including the fire alarm. (Somebody thought it was a good idea to put the alarm directly above the most likely source of fire, where it would be the next thing to catch on fire.) Fortunately, it wasn't my Sims house, so she just went home after the fire was over. I expect that the house will be returned to its original state the next time she visits. 

If we're going to have firefighters, they should fight fires. We don't need them if they aren't going to do their job. 

In my game, the firefighter stood outside the house and tried to put out the fire, but to no avail.
