I have the digital deluxe upgrade, every EP, every GP, and all but 2-3 kits.
My game is fully updated to the current patch.
The edited title is incorrect - this is a completely different issue than the one in the linked thread above, and isn't even referring to the same type of ad or an ad that appears at the same stage of loading. This should have been obvious from my description.
This refers to the full-screen splash ads on the main menu that cause a Grey Screen of Death when someone attempts to close them in order to be able to use the main menu, freezing the game and requiring a force quit.
This is such a widely reported, common issue that it's concerning that reporting it gets incorrectly linked with a random, entirely unrelated previous bug. Can you please revert it to the correct previous title so as to not cause confusion?
The other thread was for both ads. If you read on in the thread you will find that other folks talked about the full ads as well.
Two similar threads are usually insanely difficult to keep on track so it doesn't matter if it's the full screen ad for packs or for Emit, an ad on the main menu or the pack ads in the game.
There was also an other, mod related issue related to stuck screens on the main menu (the small ones) but I assume you removed all your mods and tested without although you didn't add any tags/info for that.
EA will make the final decision though on how they want this handled.
Literally just fell victim to this exact thing, I just searched in the entire site for "grey", "greyed out" and "gray," went through the list of reported bugs to try to not create a duplicate, and then reported it. They then marked mine as a duplicate of this report, but mine specifically stated ads ARE dismissible. I am just stuck on this grey screen of death. Quite frustrating but a bit funny as I read more through this post and see others ran into the same thing.
I am experiencing this issue. I am playing with standard sims 4 with the following packs:
Parenthood, backyard stuff, city living, seasons, cottage living, decor to the max kit, high school years, growing together, book nook, home chef hustle
Using the current version (up to date)

I'm currently playing the Standard Edition on PC through the EA App, with the latest game update since Aventure Awaits came out.
I have the following packs installed:
EP02, EP05, EP08, EP11, EP12, EP13
FP01
GP04, GP08
SP06, SP15, SP29, SP35, SP36, SP37, SP43, SP46, SP49, SP61, SP63, SP66, SP67Right now, the bug happens with the Autumn Apparel Ad. Usually, it occurs once when you click anywhere on the ad — after restarting the game, it doesn’t happen
again.
However, at the time I’m writing this, I just can’t play at all because the bug keeps occurring and I can’t click on anything in my game. When I click anywhere, the ad closes by itself and I can see the kit tab (the selling section), but everything is greyed out. When I try to click, nothing happens, and the only thing I can do is close the game.
I’ve tried restarting it about six times now, but the issue happens every single time.
