Cannot Edit Restaurant Lots
Whenever I enter build/buy mode on restaurant-type lots, I cannot save my progress. I cannot save my custom menu nor edit any of the uniforms. Yes, I play with Mods/CC, but I also ran multiple tests to remove any bad mods or CC. I cannot save my progress; I have to force restart my computer. I cannot delete the lot in edit world mode either.
Sims keep freezing
After completing the new update on the Sims 4, I'm constantly having to reset them. They all just stop moving. I have no mods on my game, no old files or saves as I got so fed up with it I removed everything and re-installed the game, created a new household of one and it just keeps freezing. I just updated my game today, 3/31, and when I go to start playing, it sends me to manage worlds to select a world to play in. When I click the world and household I want, it glitches out and sends me back to the main manage worlds screen. Then I tried to create a new household to avoid this problem, but then when i was done creating a new sim, it took forever to load and did not load through. I had to force quit the game. Sims not performing tasks/actions… basically acting brain dead
Ever since this last update my sims won’t do anything i tell them to…. they just stand there while the action sits in the queue. it takes minutes for them to perform an action… IF it works. after fighting to get my CC/Mods to work i’d like to finally play my game. is there anything i can do to fix this? it’s frustrating.
Severe lag after 1 hour of gameplay : requires restart
Hi, I'm experiencing a major performance issue that seems to affect a lot of players (I asked my community and many confirmed having the same problem). When I first launch the game, everything runs smoothly. Menus like Needs, Inventory, and Aspirations open instantly. Build/Buy mode is fine too, with maybe a tiny freeze the first time, but that’s normal. The issue is: the longer I play, the worse the game performs. - After around 30 minutes, the menus start to feel a bit slower. - After about an hour, the game becomes extremely laggy: - Opening the Needs panel takes a few seconds. - Build/Buy mode freezes for 5–6 seconds before opening. - The Eyedropper tool has a delay of around 2 seconds. - UI and general interactions become very sluggish. The only fix is to completely restart the game. After relaunching, everything is smooth again — but only temporarily. After another 30–60 minutes, the problem comes back. This isn’t a hardware issue. My PC setup: - Intel Core i9-12900K - 64 GB DDR5 RAM - NVIDIA RTX 4090 - Game installed on SSD - No mods, no CC - All expansion packs installed I also tend to play fast-paced, usually on speed 3. In one hour of real-time gameplay, I can go through 10–14 Sim days. It seems like the game is slowly filling up memory or cache that never clears unless I restart. It would be great to know if this has already been reported or tracked by the dev team, because it makes long play sessions really frustrating. Thanks!
cas not working
Hi there, I'm experiencing an issue with the CAS controls in my game. Essentially, the controls become completely unresponsive and I'm forced to use Task Manager to close the game. I've already tried restarting, removing mods, and running the game in different modes, but the issue persists."
Game freezes after traveling to certain community lots
Whenever I get my sim to travel into community lots (eg: San Myshuno Park) or to my store in Magnolia Promenade, 100% of the time my game freezes after the loading screen. I can hear the game sound in the background but nothing can be interacted with. The zoom/rotate doesn't move at all. I cannot even click the menu to try to exit/save the game. I checked the game without mods or cc and the issue persists. I even uninstalled the game and redownloaded it, just to find the problem STILL EXISTS (NO CC OR MODS OR PREVIOUS SAVES). I am beyond confused at this point and dunno what to do. Honestly, its heartbreaking because I love the game so much but this issue just doesn't go away. I still use the same laptop Macbook Air with macOS Monterey ver 12.5.1. It never gave me issues before. Please please help. PS: Yes the issue persists even after lowering graphic settings.My Sims keep freezing.
Despite repairs, restarts and everything else I can think of, my adult Sims keep freezing, leaving the children to starve, become filthy and get taken away due to neglect. This is not the usual 'reset object' sort of freeze and it is incredibly annoying, especially after spending ages investing in a toddler for them to be whisked away.
[CL] Garage door/mural disappears when placed and breaks lots
I have noticed that, since the most recent patch update, a lot of my lots are broken. I have identified the core issue: the DIY Garage Mural from City Living is broken. If I try to place that item onto a Lot, it subtracts the funds + makes a sound of an item being placed, but nothing actually happens. Further, if I try to load a lot that already has this item, I will get an infinite loading screen. If I go to an empty lot then try to add a house or room from my gallery that has this item, I will then have an infinite save or loading screen, or lose ability to interact with the UI. If I load the game without City Living installed, all these lots are completely fine and playable. I saw that EA_Cade was asking for save files that have experienced this bug, but that post was 9 months ago and I have only experienced this issue since the latest patch. [XB/PS] Endless Load Times
During the past 1 year I encountered endless loading multiple times. I play on console (PS4, so please don't ask me if I removed mods/CC because I can't even have any) and I own many packs: most expansion, gameplay, stuff packs and since last month 3 kits. I always have the latest version of the game, so that shouldn't be causing any problems. If I played for hours or notice minor bugs such as keys malfunctioning (no, it's not related to my keyboard) it's more likely that I'll get stuck in endless loading. I'm not saying loading screen on purpose because it also applies to saving. So far I was able to salvage these situations by just saving it as a save file instead of a lot but last time the save files didn't load either. My best bet was to save it to my library because I suspected it would cause an infinite loading screen, if I went to manage worlds anyways. The upload still froze. Recently, I had a lot of infinite loading screens. It has also happened during the current event multiple times. The only pattern I recognize is that it occurs either while traveling or while going from build mode to manage worlds. It didn't bother me that much but during the past month it has happened a lot.
