Frozen game/menu after ad

I’m also having this problem (the game hangs on a dimmed-out screen after I dismiss the ads).

It’s ad-related I’m sure as the game loaded fine after I bought and installed nifty knitting - instead of an ad when the game loaded, it showed me an intro to nifty knitting and after clicking that away, I could load my save as normal.

Since then the issue is back, but only after ads are shown when loading up the game (if they ad doesn’t appear, the game loads fine and I can play).

Game version is 1.113.297.1220 (digital deluxe)

I’m playing on an m1 iMac running sequoia 15.3.2

I tried removing all my mods and it made no difference, neither did repairing the game.
