Game crashes whenever their is something in my inventory

Whenever I have a few things in my build mode inventory like pictures of furniture and I go to put them back out the game crashes! 
up until the last 6 months or so I’ve never had this issue before but I can’t move my sims out with anything in build mode and it’s very frustrating
