Getting repeat notifications of another sims death

Every time I go into Create A Sim or resume my game, my Sims get notified of other sims deaths that have already happened, resulting in my Sims constantly having the sad moodlet. All of the notifications are for the same 3 sims, that I've already acknowledged and have moved their inventory. I don't understand why this keeps popping up and it's making this play-through quite infuriating.
