Every time there's a pop-up when starting my game I click the 'X' to close it out and then there's a gray overlay on my home screen. I can't click anything at all. I have to force quit to get out of the game. I'm using a 2024 MacBook Air and have played without any issues until yesterday.
The same thing is happening to me, and I was playing it with no problems last night. -
currently happening to me too. i've seen people give the solution of pressing the escape key and getting out that way, but that's not working for me.
So I found a fix that worked for me. I went to settings and "other" and I made sure that for my CC, I unchecked where it says "show at start up" and now I get no popups and no grey overlay.

I'm the same -- sometimes it even takes two or three full 'quit's before it allows me to play!
I dunno if this is universal or not, but the "escape" key no longer closes the advertisements for me, meaning I get the grey start-up screen 3/4 times that I load the game. This is getting incredibly frustrating lol. Can we at least get those advertisements removed until this is fixed?
This drives me nuts. It started when they began the advertisement, and it makes me so mad that because of an ad, which is typically from a pack I ALREADY OWN, I have to start and restart my game multiple times just to play. So ridiculous.
the only thing that solves this for me is starting the game offline then turning online on once in the actual game , it stops the popups !
