[GRO] Child's confidence level does not change

The confidence level in the simology panel for children is not updating. My sim just aged up into a teen and has the High Self-Esteem trait (that you get from having high confidence as a child) but they had the Neutral Confidence trait in their simology panel as a child. The confidence trait stayed neutral the entire time they were a child, it never changed to high or low. I am having the same issue with another child sim now.

Playing on Mac.

  • I am also having this issue.  I have the parents complimenting and encouraging behaviors every time they do anything - clean up the dishes, level up a skill, do their homework, etc. The confidence levels do not change at all.

I am having this issue as well. I play on PC. No mods. I have everything except for bust the dust kit. I haven't aged up the kid yet but he is less 2 weeks away from aging up to a teen in game.  His responsibility/empathy/emotional control/conflict resolution/ manners are all within range to get the positive traits or close to it.

  • I thought I was just not doing enough as far as praising and everything. Which I do it a lot because I have been trying to get this to update. This is going on with two different children in two different households. I finally started thinking that something was going on because I see them get a lot of +confidence happening above their heads but they remained neutral confident.

PC, all packs except Fairy, never cc, mods removed

Perhaps related but while my child Sim does actions like knitting or crafts alone they get the "-Confidence" icon above their head while starting the action.

I'm having this issue too across saves. I'm on PC (EA App), no mods or CC, old and new saves. So far I've held off aging up any of these child Sims since I really want the High Confidence Trait, so Idk if it's just visual or not. But they are all A students with high skills & multiple completed aspirations who get praised everytime it's possible to & are almost always confident or very confident. I have all the packs installed except Lovestruck, For Rent, Bussiness & Hobbies, & some kits. This has been happening since at least the Reaper Event.

  • Same here. But when the child (all the childs) grows up, it get the trait High (or Low) Self-Esteem.
