After I got the "Life and Death"-pack in december, alien abductions went through the roof. My adult sims are abducted at least once a week each, even if no one has even talked to an alien, and none are scientists.
I frequent reddit and I have seen several others comment on the same issue at the Sims 4 subreddit, making it clear that this isn't only affecting my gameplay.
Playing with/without mods does not seem to affect frequency at all.

This is happening to me too. I had one character abducted at least once per play session, totaling more than 10 different abductions. Needs tuning tbh.
Same, I have one abduction at least each time I play, all my save file is going to be cousins since the mother alien is always the same.
I have Life and Death and can not confirm this. I actually thought that EA has already toned this down because in my game I hardly have any upductions for a long, long time. So much has been toned down because of these ridiculous complaints that keep coming up about everything and anything! Too much of this, too much of that, what's next?! Too many mermaids swimming around? There are people who bought Packs because they want the features it came with! Vampires, for example, complaint after complaint about break-ins, invading clubs, midnight visits from Flad andwhatnot, and now you hardly feel that you even have the Vampire pack purchased and installed. The same goes for aliens. I don't see any! Soon you'll be complaining about too many fairies.
I don't have life and death but it happened to me a lot too, sometimes many sim days in a row. At first I thought it was because my sim was an astronaut but then I moved to the next generation (stylist and chef) and it happened to that sim couple a lot. I have mcc again now but it happened even when I didn't have it installed.
I don't have Life and Death, but it's been a big problem. One of my male Sims had I think 3 alien babies, I don't want to play with aliens. Babies don't work with my storylines right now. I had to download the satellite disk from the gallery to get things under control with 3 of my households that were having too many abductions. I've had to send them back to the home world. Like I said before, they need to put a toggle in for alien abductions so those of us who don't want alien pregnancies don't have to deal with it. Locking the families in at night seems to help too, if no one can get outside the aliens can't get them. I don't have problem having aliens around, I just don't like my sims being abducted constantly.
Ever since I played with an Alien Sim, everybody gets kidnapped every night. Sometimes twice a month. I decided to play with a human in another house and it was fine until they became acquainted with the alien sim from my other household, and now, my human gets kidnapped every night.
I have to lock her doors at night to avoid her getting abducted. I can't cancel the action before it's too late. The only reason I have an issue with this is that they keep being afraid of the dark. Every time it's 6 pm in the game, my Sims are running around in fear and can't do normal things anymore. Even when I cheat out the fear and turn it off.
I don't want to stop playing with Aliens, but I also don't want my Sims getting kidnapped every single night or sometimes multiple times a night!
I agree with this report, I think I made a similar post of my own here or just complained on Reddit. It got bad enough for me that I started shipping off all my excess alien babies to other households.
Free alien babies for everyone, I guess? It's hilarious but also kind of annoying being pregnant all the time, against my will. Feels a little rapey after the novelty wears off.
