After I got the "Life and Death"-pack in december, alien abductions went through the roof. My adult sims are abducted at least once a week each, even if no one has even talked to an alien, and none are scientists.
I frequent reddit and I have seen several others comment on the same issue at the Sims 4 subreddit, making it clear that this isn't only affecting my gameplay.
Playing with/without mods does not seem to affect frequency at all.

This is happening to my Sims every day. One or the other of the couple get abducted. I have so many new alien babies in my saves because of it.
Can we please get an abduction toggle in Game Options? Or something on the front door similar to disallowing vampires? This is getting really annoying. I’m having to save my elder Sim from aliens about twice a week, sometimes twice in the same night. She’s never been a scientist, never used a telescope, doesn’t have any points in the logic skill, and doesn’t know any aliens. I have a lot of mods but no CC on this lot.
Can we please turn down the frequency of Alien abductions. It happens in every save (different Sims 4 Folders) ALL THE DARN TIME. It's overpowered and has been for so long.
Hello! So, I'm here to add my two cents! I've been playing the same game for a year and a half, and I've never been abducted by aliens. But for about a week now, I've been abducted several times in my main game, even though I don't want anything unreal in it. The couple gets abducted several times during a single session. And since their oldest daughter is now a young adult, I'm afraid she'll get abducted too. Fortunately, no alien babies have been born from these abductions. But I too would like to be able to disable the aliens and abductions... I hope that one day it will be possible.
Bonjour ! Alors, je viens ajouter ma pierre à l'édifice ! Moi, je joue depuis un an et demi sur une même partie, et je n'avais jamais eu d'enlèvement par les extra-terrestres. Mais, depuis environ une semaine, j'ai droit à plusieurs enlèvements dans ma partie principale, alors que je ne veux rien d'irréel dedans. On couple se fait enlever à plusieurs reprises au cours d'une seule séance. Et comme la plus âgée de leur fille, est maintenant jeune adulte, je crains qu'elle ne se fasse enlever à son tour. Heureusement, pas de bébé alien né de ces enlèvements. Mais moi-aussi, j'aimerais bien pouvoir désactiver les aliens et les enlèvements... J'espère qu'un jour, se sera possible.

Since the newest update, my sim is getting abducted by aliens frequently. I have been playing a new save for 2 weeks, and they have been abducted 5x now.
It's the same Sim every time. Mods have been removed.
Suggestion: Can we have an option to opt out of alien abductions....
I'm about to get a mod to get rid of the abductions... It is so annoying. I'm on Gen 1 of a Legacy, and guess how many abductions there have been? I just got number 8! First it was my founder multiple times, and now it's her husband... I never had this happen before that frequently, but since the last update. I haven't really changed my mods folder other than updates to the mods. They have nothing to do with Aliens since I don't even ever play with Aliens...
To be honest, I don’t understand why some people claim there are so many abductions, while others, like me, hardly ever experience them in the game. For me, it happens maybe once a month or every two months. Can someone explain this to me? – Just downgrading everything—like what’s already happened with the vampires and other things—just because some of you don’t like it isn’t the right approach. What about the players who like it exactly the way it is? An option to disable or opt out would be the better solution, because as I said, some of us like it exactly the way it is or was, and bought the packs for that very reason. I bought the Vampire Pack because of its gameplay, and I’ve hardly seen any of them in years. Not even Flad.
This is the most annoying bug ever.. Why on earth force us to play with aliens? There should be an on/off switch. I get abducted in every household, at least once or twice a week. Tried removing CC, did not solve it.
I’m experiencing this problem as well. There are far too many alien abductions. All it takes is for my Sim to have the misfortune of talking to an alien (and you can’t always tell who is an alien because they are disguised) for them to get abducted later on.
I played with a household of six Sims, one of whom was an alien. Every member of the household was abducted multiple times. Even after the alien left the household and died of old age, my vampire Sim who remained in the household was abducted another five times!
No member of the household was in the Scientist career.
Please, please add an option in the game settings to disable alien abductions.
No mods/No cc in my game.
