Teen Sims do not age up automatically to Young Adults when aging is enabled, but only under very specific conditions:
The Sim is in the Other Households section
The Sim is homeless (not living on any lot)
When both conditions are met, even if the aging bar is completely full and the birthday has passed, the Sim will not age up. However, if that same Sim is either: Moved into a residential lot
or Moved to My Households, they will immediately age up if their age bar was already full.
Expected Result: Teen Sims should age up to Young Adults automatically when the age bar is full, regardless of household section or housing status, as long as auto-aging is enabled.
Actual Result: Teen Sims in Other Households and without a home do not age up, even when the age bar is full. They only age up the moment they are placed into a house or moved into My Households.
Steps to Reproduce
- Create or obtain a Teen Sim (via CAS, adoption, in-game birth, or pre-made Maxis household).
- Move them to Other Households and leave them homeless (not placed in any lot).
- Enable aging and wait for their aging bar to fill.
- Observe that they do not age up automatically.
- Move them to a lot or to My Households.
- Observe that they immediately age up.
Additional Notes: The issue does not occur with: Infants, Toddlers, Children, Young Adults, Adults. The bug occurs regardless of how the Sim was created (CAS, in-game birth, adoption, pre-made Maxis family). It's unknown whether this is base game-related or tied to a specific pack. All tests were done with no mods or CC installed. tested on new save. Game was repaired via the EA App. The following files were deleted before testing: ReticulatedSplinesView, localthumbcache.package, localSimTextureCache ,lastException.txt, onlineThumbnailCache
screenshots: When MCCC was used, the affected teen Sim displayed unusual age values such as: Teen (286–84). This shows the aging system has broken for that Sim. in the other screenshot teen Sim in Other Households and homeless, with aging bar full and birthday passed, still not aged up. (Mods deleted)

I experienced this a long time ago, in my case there was three premade Sim who never aging up: Darling Walsh (CL), Tane Ngata (IL), Zelmira Gomes (LD).
Before I'm completely clueless what's make them not aging up, even tho Alexander Goth, Erik Loden, Zhafira Cahyaputri and all of HSY teens was succed aging up to YA. Then I noticed that three of them have same pattern: living status is homeless "Currently not in the world". After knew that, I tried some experiment:
- Using mod Sim Control Hub to check age bar one of them (Tane Ngata), keep them controlled until next day. Result: fails aging up them. Then I controlled him to blow out candles manually (cuz I'm tired always see them in every prom night). I did the same to Darling Walsh, but no blow out candles, I did extreme way, lol. Shift click her and Cheat Sim Info and Age Up Sim.
- Not using any mod, but I sent back Gomes household (that I dunno since when they moved out) to living in Ravenwood again. After next sim-day, Zelmira Gomes succed aging up. I know this because she was a teenagers club member from my played Sim.
So the conclusion is, this is because the teen Sim homeless. Maybe it's just a base game problem not tied to HSY.
